Foundation And Retaining Wall

This is a Concrete Pump Truck used to pour in places Mixer Trucks aren't able to. In this particular site we just got done pouring a retaining wall and the pump just had moved from it's original location to be able to reach the set of footings next to the retaining wall and it had been said this also is a retaining wall section and we are about to pour one of the foundation which is called the footings. And the footing is the first to be poured before the wall and this footing will be the part that holds as an anchor for the wall and it is massively large and will be heavy. It will take an estimate of 50+ yards of concrete to fill this footing. Very heavy foundation just to hold this hill side from sliding out of place. One yard of concrete weighs  around 4,000lbs. x 50+ yards of concrete= roughly about 20,000 plus lbs. Now thats not including the weight of the wall which will be poured usually in a couple of days.

Heres a picture of the footings we are going to pour down below. After they pour this out they'll probably pull the forms out in the morning. As you could see the walls towards the back left side of the picture. Those forms there  will probably be used on this side of the footings.

My assigned Rig parked awaiting the pump to finish setting up. It usually takes 10-mins.

Slow Day Jobs

At times when it's slow and there's no concrete orders they The Company) would have me drive a Haul Truck or nicknamed the cat wagon or yuke truck, Rock Truck, what ever others want to call it this vehicle is so huge, well not as it's bigger class this in particular is a 769C Haul Truck weighing about 50-Tons a lot of weight I tell you. It's tires are taller than me and I'm 5'-8" tall. There are six of these tires on this vehicle. It is a two seater for training purposes. I haul anything from pit runs to compost stock pile plant materials just about any thing. This is a rain or shine type job. I enjoy this job a lot this also is one of the company's plant out in Enumclaw, WA. off of Hwy-410 East.

My co-workers say they don't like this job because it's hard and rough riding and tough on the back bone and to top it off they say it's a boring job but take it from my experience, the job is a blessing in many ways. Just looking at it from behind the wheel is a different story. I enjoy this job because of it's rewards like off- roading, driving through thick slippery muddy terrains, being on top of mountains and the roads are challenging fun and exiting. It feels like riding a boat on wheels sort of speak but, it also has it's dangers of sinking, flipping over, blowing a tire on these is like a bomb blowing up. I can really say this job in enjoyable and adventurous now the guy saying its a boring job are the one's home wondering for there next meal. I thank God for this job and the goodness of the Lord.

The Bible says this;   2 Thess 3:10 (K.J.V.
For even when we were with you, this wecommanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.  So as for this job this has been a blessing for me and my family. It's not my job I trust in. It is God alone. He takes care of all my needs amen...

Night Job Concrete Pours

There are times when I had to pour concrete at night and that also is fun. I like night pours for the fact it is much cooler and less traffic. And for this job I poured was over on the Kent - Kangley Enumclaw Hwy at the Four-Corners.

This particular job had to be poured at 12:00 AM due to the high volume of traffic in this area. It took about a couple of hours from the time I was batched till I was back at the Plant. And this was not batched out of Sumner, I came in at 11:30 PM did a vehicle Pre-trip  inspection and dead headed for Federal Way, WA. to get loaded there. I really enjoy night pours. Everything about it is cool. The night lights, the stars, it's less traffic route planning trip, less strain on the vehicle due to heat not that the vehicle can't take it because it can but it is much easier on the tire I mean you name it, especially for the concrete. I like night pours.

"I Appreciate My Job"

Now this is my assigned Mixer Truck # 123, it has a lot of chrome and i mean a lot it also takes up time to polish and wax and shine tires and wheels
they (The Company) really appreciate us in keeping their Vehicles clean both interior and exterior.

As a mixer driver, your required and important to know about concrete. All the additives and products like fiber mesh aluminum oxides and countless other things you can add by hand and pending on the type of batch plant most you don't have to do by hand.

As a Mixer Driver or Operator some say differently the most fun part about driving is going to different places and seeing different types of terrains and driving off-road and through tough muddy places lots of travel time depending upon the size city and country or state it doe's vary. For us here in Washington theres much to cover and explore. As in this picture above which is located in Federal Way, WA. and the load was batched out of our Plant in Sumner, WA. we call on CB Handle termed "Plant One" I enjoyed the drive time. Every time you hit the road there always something new rather near or far it's always different. And thanks be unto the God of heaven and earth for my job and I, appreciate all good thing from Him... "God can do the same for you".  We here at Corliss Resources Inc. travel and will go any where there is work here in this state of course.
